Schedule

Both Andy and Maya are available for privates. For those new to Shadow Yoga or looking to improve their understanding of the Prelude activity, Maya offers sessions for $80. For more experienced students, Andy offers sessions for $100. Please contact the appropriate teacher to schedule a session.

Sancalanam with Maya
Wednesdays, 8am – 9:30am, begins August 2. Five sessions, $100.

Sancalanam is the second of the Shadow Yoga preludes; using Warrior and horse stances, it coordinates movement with breath to create lightness in the body. This class is open to all.

Nrtta Sadhana Intro with Andy & Maya
Wednesdays, 6pm – 7:30pm, begins August 2. Five sessions, $100.

Participants must have prior Karttikeya experience.

Individual Practice with Andy & Maya
Fridays, 7am – 8:30am, begins August 4. Four sessions, $80.

Participants receive individual attention in this group setting in order to deepen their practice. Must have previous Shadow Yoga experience.

Sat & Sun, Sep. 30 & Oct. 1: Practice: 7 – 9am & 4 – 6pm, both days

Join us for a special weekend workshop with Sundernath and Emma of Shadow Yoga. Workshops with the founders of Shadow Yoga in NYC are rare. Open to all, regardless of prior Shadow Yoga experience. Click here for more information.

The Shadow Yoga Preludes consist of simple but not “easy” movements and positions. With practice, rough movements become graceful as the weaknesses and instabilities are corrected.

Students are encouraged to repeat levels as each time a series is taught a different approach will be taken. All classes are taught with room for questions and space for students to cultivate their own, personal understanding.

Beginners in Shadow Yoga are encouraged to begin with Level I Balakrama or Sancalanam. Students must have experience with both before taking Kartikkeya classes.
